Or better still, go undefeated and lose the most important game of all - the final game! that has never happened before! oops by bad! did the patriots go undefeated and lose the last game?! that undefeated season didn't mean anything because they lost the final game. so yeah, take out the starters and try to preserve them. an undefeated season is a stat for losers unless you win the final game. Now if you were playing free safety or cornerback for your high school team and they took you out to preserve you for the playoffs then i can follow you.
