What’s in Their Heads?

Literally. What’s left in the heads of those athletes who suffer concussions… yes, some have endured more than one.
I guess, moreover, my question is why would an athlete return to a sport when a concussion is suffered? I mean, the symptoms are real and the long-term consequences are real? A good number of concussions have occurred of late and one by one the athletes are returning to the game. A sports loving friend of mine says having a concussion now days is as common as getting a headache. Wow.
To me, it’s never that time. One shaky skull and I’m done. I just don’t get it…

You just don’t get it?! The thing about concussions is that once it occurs – You just don’t get it?! The thing about concussions is that once it occurs – You just don’t get it?! Whoa, what a comment from Kid! hilarious!
Ahh, when you love something you just love it, and that’s that. Look at mountain climbers and Skydivers and race car guys and gals.
If singing and writing songs were as dangerous as say, pro boxinG, would I keep on doing it? Yep, probably so!

Yes, Jannie… Kid has become a hilarious fixture on this site. Anyway, I totally understand loving something, but what I feel most athletes don’t do is think pass their playing years. Everyone isn’t going to be that superstar player for the team or have the opportunity to become a sports analyst. And if that player hasn’t made smart business and money decisons that money isn’t going to look the same. Now, in this case, who helps them? They don’t have the team’s doctor on speed dial. There is life after sports and I’d just like to remember the years I actually played. See you soon Jannie!…
