V, once again I love your topic. Hmmm at this time in my life and my current addiction to golf this is an easy one. Let me be Tiger for a week… I would call up all my golf buddies (not the ones who I beat down, but the ones that beat the crap outta me) and make some serious wagers. Oh yeah the mortgages is getting paid early this month..LMAO.. ok ok.. but seriously.. I would like to not only have his physical game but his mental game as well. I cant tell you how many times I have, well um choked when the match was on the line…
What I also like about Tiger, is the way he has attracted so many people to the sport that would not have shown interest if he were not a person of color. Whether purposly done or not.
Golf is a game that can never be won, only played and thats the beauty of it. You are in competition with yourself. It does build character, but damn it breaks you waaaaaay down first.
After about 10 years of playing I think my foundation is starting to dry…

Awwww man, I love this! Jim Brown! Number 32!
For starters he was the best at his position!
He mentally and physically beat his opponents and inspired and gave confidence to his team.
He never missed a game in 9 years and none of his teammates ever saw him hurt or injured. After being tackled, he always got up slow so that the opposing team never knew he was hurting or when they gave a good shot. He always went to the trainers 3 hours before the team was scheduled to arrive so that no one saw him getting treatment. To them he was superman because he was always healthy and never hurt.
He played in an era where being an African American athlete not “knowing his place” could jeopardize their careers. He used the platform and stage of athletics to fight against the social and economic injustices of African Americans. He was respected by all of his athletic peers in all professional sports and particularly the African American professional athletes.
He organized the African American athletes and educated them about putting back in the Black community economically and socially.
In a nutshell, he stood for something which is more than I can say for Michael (“Republicans buy my shoes too!”) Jordan.
He was educated, athletically talented, confident, a leader and an intimidating presence. Even as a senior citizen he commanded so much respect due to his legacy and accomplishments that he was able to broker a truce between the two most powerful gangs in California, the bloods and the crips. A truce that others attempted over the years and failed miserably.
So successful was his efforts that he created a gang intervention program (AMER-I-CAN) that’s recognized across the country by major cities and often utilized in thwarting gang violence in urban cities.
So for a week? I’ll take Jim Brown but I think I will go for his athletic work on the gridiron and the mental toughness and intelligence that made him successful rather than his other work that I find very impressive.

Wow, David… Tiger, huh? That was completely unexpected. I like you’re reasoning. And, I learned something about the concept of the game from you… that’s always a treat! Thanks for dropping by.
Kid, you on the other hand chose someone I actually thought would be a good fit… I can see that. It’s good to have a grand thought on why you’d swap out your life for someone for a week. You are always thought provoking.
