Plaxico, Really Dude?
Posted by VeRonda Wicks September 23rd, 2009I just want to encapsulate this story with great tragic imagery, as it is just that…
A 2-year prison sentence has started for violating New York’s strict guns laws. Why?
Now a 3-year-old boy is without his father and a wife is left alone as she prepares for the birth of another child. Why?
The one-time Super Bowl champ is without a team and can only hope that after his jail stint a team will pick him up. Why?
His father stands in the court room and tells Plaxico to be strong. Why?
This all stems from Plaxico accidentally shooting himself in the thigh at a Manhattan nightclub… The gun wasn’t licensed in New York. Why?
Bad decision making… Period.

I agree with you my sistah! Bad decision making! But serving 2 years and he’s not a criminal nor violent criminal?! Child please! That’s overkill!
But a dramatic lesson to learn! If he was smart and had a scentilia of brains and common sense, he should have simply gotten drunk and struck and killed another human being. That way he would have only served 24 days. He indeed made a bad decision. Hopefully he won’t be making any acrobatic catches in prison and gain an affinity for soap on a rope.

Ok I was going to comment but got side tracked by Kids comments… Kid you got me LMAO… “Soap on a rope” I’m dying over here….
Ok, Im back… V, I totally agree with you.. VERY bad decision making.. I mean why was ole boy “…up inda club…”, as 50 would say, (that would be 50 cent the rapper for those of you who are hip hop challeged) with a gun in the first place. With the money he makes why night hire personal protection. On top of that, why place yourself in surroundings where you feel you need to carry a firearm???? The stupidity behind it all amazings me… I mean we all make bad choices in life, but damn!! To leave you child and expecting wife alone for two years, behind a night at the club. Can somebody say Priorities????
To piggy back off Kid… are our morals so out of wack that we can get two years for carrying, not using, but carrying a firearm or killing a dog, but only 24 days for killing another human being while in a drunken stupor???
Things that make you go hmmmmmm…..

Kid… you are something else. I’m not sure if your view point is of popular culture, but I think you may be voicing what others might be thinking and just won’t say. Poor decision making is a horrible disease that ends up impacting many. Wow, Kid! Soap on a rope? No response.

i failed to mention that I was comparing his penalty to that of Donte Stallworth, wide receiver of the Cleveland Browns who was driving drunk and hit and killed a man and only served 24 days in jail!

David, yeah I believe that priorities are not exactly in order in several of these cases. I just believe overall that athletes, people in general, should try to make better decisions and not just act because they/we can. Its not fair to those who have to suffer from the consequences. You and Kid are hilarious… Kid, I figured you were referencing the Stallworth incident (Well, at least I hoped thats what you were referring to.).

They should have switched the sentences for him that guy on the browns (my team, lol…can’t remember his name) who ran the dude over in Miami.
I think getting shot in the foot is pretty good punishment. Maybe some probation too…but jail time? Nah.
