I’m “So So” About It…
Posted by VeRonda Wicks January 5th, 2009It’s safe to say that everything happens for a reason, right?… Com se com sa, uh (Ah, you like the French in me, don’t cha? LOL!)? You know, the belief that everything that happens in a person’s life has to happen and that it’s for some greater cause, whether good or bad. I feel that a person can determine a lot of what’s going to happen in his or her life with the decisions made, the attitude carried, and the words spoken (Obviously, this isn’t some secret formula… cracking up!).
The quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles (…not a complete fan of the shade of green as the team’s color, but I digress), Donavan McNabb, was “benched” (taken out of the game; coach’s removal) during a game against the Baltimore Ravens several weeks back. From this benching were stories of his eminent retirement, lost mojo, and being a detriment to the team…
Fast forward to today and he’s on top of the world, at least in the commentating world… McNabb is back! He’s the greatest! He’ll be back next year! And all the hype is steaming from his time-out session some weeks back.
I don’t think I want to buy this one… I think just like us-humans, them-humans are indeed human. And, with this human-nality (I’m full of made up stuff today, right?) comes the ups and downs that life deals us sometimes. I know, I know (I do…) they get paid millions to be non-humans, but no, they are. McNabb is having success because he’s a highly-skilled human-athlete, not because the coach thought he wasn’t playing nicely with the others and during that time he analyzed his life’s worth.
I’m good now… I got it out. Breathe. Breathe.

I like seeing McNabb doing well. I’m actually hoping the Eagles go far in the playoffs. He’s a great player and it would be nice to see him get to the SB.

DC… I know. McNabb just gets the bad rap sooo much and it’s unfortunate.

Yeah, you are right. We’re having similar issues in Cleveland with Bralon Edwards. Can’t keep his hands on the ball. Must be slippery because ‘he’s not making mistakes’. They get paid an aweful lot and seem to never ‘man up’, which is what we always teach our own children to do. It’s sad.
I do looooove those Campbells commercials with McNabbs mom, though, lol
Your verifcation codes are giving me trouble again. This is code #4, and it’s still not taking it…I’ll try 5. lol

Just goes to show the amazing amount of “what have you done for me lately” fans that are out there. But that’s what you expect from the Philadelphia media. Always riding a player for what he’s done wrong and praising him for what he’s done right with sporadic regulation.

Sheila, isn’t his mom the best on those commercials?!? I’ll work on those code… I can’t stand them either when I go to other sites.
Hey Troy!! You ain’t ever lied!! LOL! Thanks for stopping by.

Hey, Great looking site you got going on here.
I am so happy for McNaab. I have always liked him and I’m a big Ravens fan but he’s got some talent. The media and fans can get pretty harsh. It’s like they, we- forget that these guys are human.
Sometimes I cringe when I listen to Sports Center or read an article.
I hope he makes it back to the dance, but unfortunately, I’m not rooting for him if he’s u against my boys in purple. No can do.
Hope you are feeling better.

Hey Molly!
You’re a Ravens’ fan, too! Yay!! Okay, okay… I agree, the analysts can be a bit harsh. I guess they have to work, too, huh? Thanks for the well wishes…
